fairtrade

Well done to Mrs Brown, Miss Brown and the boys and girls in the Fairtrade Committee who organised some special events throughout Fairtrade Fortnight, including a poster competition, wrapper competition and tuck-shop. Well done to the winners of the poster competition who were:

Brody in Room 6

Isaac in Room 9

Emma in Room 5

Macy in Room 7

Libby in Room 10

Well done also to Room 7 who collected the most Fairtrade wrappers and enjoyed a ‘Fairtrade Break’ as a reward which included some delicious Fairtrade bananas and chocolate! Our lucky Primary 1 children also enjoyed a special ‘Fairtrade Break’ too.

The Fairtrade Committee will be running a Fairtrade Tuck Shop tomorrow at playtime. There will be the opportunity to buy one item each, either

Kit Kat 30p

or

Buttons 20p

If possible, please have the correct change, as this will help the committee members who are working at the tuck shop!

Also, a reminder that the poster competition is due in on Friday!

Thank you,

The Fairtrade Committee

world thinking day

A number of our pupils who attend Brownies and Guides have brought it to our attention that 22nd February is World Thinking Day. To celebrate this day, the children who attend these groups are encouraged by their Brownie/Guide leaders to wear their special uniforms to school. We are more than happy for any child who attends these groups to come to school on Wednesday 22nd February wearing their Brownie/Guide uniform should they wish to.

A Message from the Fairtrade Committee

Fairtrade Fortnight takes place from 27th February – 12th March 2017 and this year’s theme is ‘Put Fairtrade in your Break’. The Fairtrade Committee is running a class competition from P2-7 starting from Monday 20th February to collect Fairtrade wrappers. On Friday 3rd March the Fairtrade Committee will count the wrappers and the class with the most will win a Fairtrade Break. For an opportunity to win a Fairtrade treat, children are also invited to submit a Fairtrade poster to the Fairtrade Committee (Room 11) by Friday 3rd March. Fairtrade tuck shops will also run on Thursday 2nd and 9th March – more details to follow.
