well done

A big well done to all of the children for their brilliant effort at Sports Day. Hopefully everyone is a little bit warmer now! Thank you to all of our adult helpers and the parents/carers who came along to cheer the children on. Thanks also to Mrs Drennan for coordinating Sports Day along with our Sport Captains & Vice-Captains. It was lovely seeing so many children in their House colours and we are delighted to announce this year’s winning House, with 789 points, is…

WELLCROFT!!!

Walk to School Week 2016

Walktoschool260_tcm4-675091

We have had a very successful Walk to School Week this year and would like to thank families for supporting this event throughout the week. The children were excited to be greeted by ‘Speeding Ted’ and our JRSOs at the gate on Wednesday and it was fantastic to see so many children walking, scootering or cycling to school. Today was our ‘Happy Feet Day’ and it was brilliant seeing the children in their choice of happy footwear! Well done to all children who took part and to our JRSOs for their hard work.

We will post more photographs from Happy Feet Day to the website soon, however in the meantime our Website Committee have posted some of their own photographs of their ‘happy feet’ and the reasons for their choices. Please go to our Photo Gallery for a look!

sports day

Sports Day

We had a successful Sports Day on Friday and the rain even stayed away! The children enjoyed taking part in the various sporting activities and demonstrated excellent team work and ‘sportspersonship’ – well done everyone! Thanks to those who came and supported our Sports Day, the children always appreciate the encouragement. Many thanks also to the parents and carers who volunteered their time to help classes with their activities – we really appreciate your support.

Walk to School Week

Today marks the start of Walk to School Week 2016. This week, we are encouraging families to actively travel to school whether it be by walking, cycling, scooting or even by parking further away from the school and walking part of the way. Each morning, classes will record how children have travelled to school with the winning class being announced at this week’s assembly. On Wednesday, our Junior Road Safety Officers and a special visitor, ‘Speeding Ted’, will be at the MUGA entrance to greet children. If your child is actively travelling to school on this day, please remind them to come via the MUGA entrance!

Walk to School Week Poster 2016

Monday 16th – Friday 20th May 2016 is Walk to School Week and we will be challenging all children to walk, cycle or scooter to school throughout the week. We understand that this can be difficult for some families, however during this week we would ask that families even try to ‘park and stride’ if they are unable to walk the full way to school. Classes will be able to keep track of how often they actively travel to school throughout the week and we will share and celebrate the results at our weekly assembly.

In addition, as part of Walk to School Week,  we will be having a ‘Happy Feet-day’ on Friday 20th May. On this day, we will invite the children to come to school wearing their ‘happiest’ pair of shoes for a £1 donation. More information will be provided to pupils at this week’s assembly.

Many thanks for supporting Walk to School Week. :-)
