The Week Ahead – 9th May 2016

happy20sun

What a beautiful start to the week! Here’s hoping the sun is still shining for our Sports Day on Friday…

Today marks the start of Health Week at Udston Primary. As you already know,  Health and Wellbeing is firmly embedded in daily school life at Udston and having happy, healthy pupils is of paramount importance to all staff. This week is Walk to School Week. Please encourage your child to travel to school actively despite the unpredictable weather we are experiencing at the moment!

Front Gate Arrangements

As you may already be aware, Morgan Sindall are carrying out essential work at the Lunch Hall side of the playground therefore we have no access to this section for the foreseeable future. Children entering the school via the Front Gate are being directed to walk down the path beside the school Car Park and enter the playground via the Bike Shed gate. Owing to the high volume of parents using the school Car Park in the morning, we have no alternative but to close the Car Park entrance gates to ensure the safety of our pupils. For this reason, the gates will be closed to public traffic from 8.30am (out of school care minibuses and the West Craigs’ bus being the exceptions). You may decide that the MUGA Gate is a better option for you during this period. Thank you for your understanding.

Health Week

We had another successful Health Week  and were delighted to hear the positive feedback from our pupil evaluations! A huge thank you to our parental volunteers from Scottish Water and Block 9 Fitness who came in to work with the children. A big thank you also to Fire Service Scotland and Rockstar Cheer Dance who also volunteered their time during the week. Thank you to everyone who has handed in their forms and sponsor money from Monday’s Space Hop (can we ask anyone still to hand theirs in to do so by tomorrow!). Photographs from Health Week will be added to the website soon (we are also in this week’s edition of the Hamilton Advertiser!).
