Co-op Local Fund – Finalists

library

We are delighted to have been shortlisted to receive funding from the Co-op Local Fund in our community! This funding will go towards setting up our brand new school library when funds are distributed in February 2016. All members of The Co-operative Group will get one vote and be able to support their favourite cause when voting opens on 16th November 2015. It is easy for non-members to join by visiting:

www.co-oplocalfund.co.uk.

How much we receive depends on the number of votes we get. Voting closes at 5pm on 11th December.  Please spread the word! :-)

Next week, a photographer from the Hamilton Advertiser will be coming into school to take class photographs of our Primary 1 pupils on Tuesday morning. Could all children please come to school, as always, in their uniform (a shirt and tie if possible!).

Primary 4 Rugby Taster Sessions

On Tuesday, our Primary 4 children will take part in rugby ‘taster sessions’. Could all Primary 4 children please come to school with full P.E kit and water (be prepared to be outdoors!).

Sponsored Event – Wednesday 30th September

We are very excited to welcome GB Olympic swimmer Caitlin McClatchey to our school on Wednesday as part of a Sports for Schools sponsored event. Your child will have a letter in their schoolbag today with more information and a sponsor form – as always, we greatly appreciate your support.

Parents’/Carers’ Visits – Thursday 8th October

Many thanks for returning your slips indicating your preferred time slot for parents’/carers’ visits. We always aim to give parents and carers their preferred time slot, however I am sure you will appreciate that this is not always possible owing to class numbers – we will do our best!

School Library – Exciting News!

We are absolutely delighted to inform you that we have been successful in an Education Scotland grant bid for £5000 to purchase ‘reading for enjoyment’ books to create a School Library! We are sure you will all agree that the children will benefit hugely from this. We will keep you updated with our progress. :-)

Wishing everyone a safe and relaxing September Break – school will reopen on Tuesday at 9.00am.
