Many thanks for your understanding and take care in the snow!

Burns Supper Cook-a-thon!

untitled

There is a lovely smell of home cooking throughout the school this week. Our pupils are thoroughly enjoying our Burns Supper Cook-a-thon and have been learning new skills which will hopefully be useful at home!

Just a reminder to send in £1 to help towards the cost of ingredients – any remaining funds will be used for future cooking activities.

Also, please visit our Photo Gallery to view a selection of photographs from our Scots Language Assembly!

New Healthy Fruit Tuck Shop

The staff and pupils from our Health & Wellbeing Committee have been busy organising a brand new Fruit Tuck Shop which will run every Thursday at playtime.

The Committee are working in partnership with Hillhouse Food Co-op and will order and sell fruit on a weekly basis. The type of fruit being sold may vary from week to week depending on what is available and taking into consideration what pupils might enjoy.

This Thursday, the Committee will be selling bananas, oranges and apples for 20p. If you would like your child to buy a piece of fruit for their snack, please send in some change.

Many thanks for your support with this exciting new venture!

Scots Language Week!

Well Done Everyone!

The pupils and staff have thoroughly enjoyed Scots Language Week and have taken part in some fantastic learning activities!

From learning and writing Scots poetry and songs, hearing Scots stories, building their own Scots ‘toon’ and making Scots Language signs to display around the school, it sure has been a busy week for our pupils!

Throughout the week pupils have had the opportunity to share the Scots poems, stories and songs which they learned at home with their class. Each class also chose a few pupils to perform at our assembly today and we were seriously impressed with their confidence and enthusiasm (photos to follow).

A huge well done to all of the pupils for their hard work!

We are all looking forward to next week’s Burns Supper Cook-a-thon.

Clothes Collection – Friday 30th January

recycleWe are having another clothes collection on Friday 30th January. Could all bags please be clearly labelled with your child’s class and dropped off at the school office on this day.

Please remember we accept clothing & shoes, household goods, toys, and books. When bagging these items please keep the same items together, i.e. clothing kept in the same bag, textiles in another bag, household goods in another, etc.

Many thanks for your continued support.
